Jávea (Xàbia in Valencian) is about 100 kilometres from Valencia, according to the tourism website of Xàbia Town Council, and has no train station. You can take a direct coach (ALSA runs a Xàbia – Valencia line), the train to Gandía and the road from there, drive down the AP-7, or book a private transfer from your hotel, your home or the airport to the door of your accommodation. For a family with suitcases or a group, a transfer is the simplest option. If you're on your own and travelling light, the coach does the job.

Where Jávea is, and why it's hard to reach without a car

Jávea is at the northern end of the Costa Blanca, between Dénia and Cape La Nao. The town's website puts Dénia about 8 km away. The municipality is spread over several areas — the old town, the port, the Arenal and the hillside residential estates. If you're staying on one of those estates, it's likely to be far from the bus stop, so you'll still have the last stretch to your door.

By coach

According to Xàbia's public transport page, ALSA runs the Xàbia – Valencia, Xàbia – Alicante and Xàbia – Madrid lines, and there are further connections from Dénia. The same page gives the operator's phone number and its website, www.alsa.es, where you'll find timetables and tickets.

Good for: travelling alone or as a couple, with little luggage, staying near the stop or with a way to get there.

From Valencia Airport: first get to the city centre, by metro on line 3 or 5 according to Aena, and catch the coach from there. We explain it in Valencia Airport to the city centre.

By train to Gandía

Jávea has no railway. The Town Council says that Gandía, about 45 km to the north, has a Renfe station with trains to Valencia that take "just an hour". The plan is a train from Valencia to Gandía and the last leg by road from there. Check the onward connection before you set off, as this leg isn't direct.

Good for: you prefer the train and can sort out the leg from Gandía, or someone picks you up there.

By car

The town's website lists the AP-7, the A-7 and the N-332 as the roads from Alicante airport, and the N-335, the A-3 and the AP-7 from Valencia airport. The AP-7 between Tarragona and Alicante has been toll-free since 2020, according to La Moncloa. The DGT publishes live traffic on its traffic map.

Your own or a hire car gives you freedom during your stay. If you only need it for the journey, think about where you'll park and, if it's a hire car, about collecting and returning it.

Private transfer from Valencia to Jávea

We drive to any city in Spain, to and from the Valencia area (where we go). You can set off from Valencia Airport, the port, the railway station, a hotel or any address (where we pick you up).

  • To the door of your accommodation, even on an out-of-the-way estate. Give the exact address when you book.
  • A fixed price, tolls included, which you see before you book (is the price final?).
  • From the airport, we track your flight. Free waiting is 60 minutes from the actual landing; at other addresses, 15 minutes (waiting time).
  • With children. Ask for a child seat in the form and give the child's age in the comment; we confirm availability when you book. If you're bringing a baby pushchair, mention it in the comment too (special luggage).
  • With lots of luggage or a group. How many suitcases fit depends on their size. If you have many or large ones, tick “Large luggage” and we'll suggest the right vehicle (how many suitcases fit). We have sedans for up to 4 passengers, minibuses for up to 7 and coaches with 22, 33 and 55 seats (our fleet).
  • A stop on the way, for example at a supermarket before you reach the house, if we agree it. Add it in the comment; it may change the price (stops).

What if you land in Alicante?

According to Xàbia Town Council, Alicante-Elche airport is about 100 km from Jávea and Valencia airport about 113 km. If you haven't booked your flights yet, compare Alicante ones too. On its Alicante airport bus page, Aena lists an ALSA line to Jávea via Alicante, Alicante railway station, Benissa, Teulada and Benitachell. We drive from Alicante too: enter Alicante airport as the starting point in the calculator.
