You can get from Valencia Airport to Benidorm by public transport, combining the metro, a train or coach and the tram via Valencia or Alicante. Or you can book a private transfer that picks you up in arrivals and drops you at your hotel door. With suitcases, children or a late flight, a transfer saves you the changes, and you know the price before you book.

What to know about the journey

According to Visit Benidorm, the city's official tourism website, Benidorm is reached by road via the AP-7 motorway and the N-332 coast road. The AP-7 between Tarragona and Alicante has been toll-free since 2020, according to La Moncloa, the Spanish Government's website.

By road from the airport, you cross the whole province of Valencia heading south. To check traffic on the day, the DGT (Spain's traffic authority) publishes a live traffic map.

By public transport: how to combine it

On its bus page, Aena lists two metropolitan bus lines at Valencia Airport: 150 (to Valencia city centre) and 106 (Torrent – Quart de Poblet). Neither goes to the coast, so these are the combinations backed by official information:

Option A: a long-distance coach from Valencia.

  1. From the airport to the centre by metro, line 3 or 5, according to Aena. We cover this in detail in Valencia Airport to the city centre.
  2. From the centre, a long-distance coach. Visit Benidorm says the city has regular coach services to many Spanish cities and that its bus station is at Paseo Els Tolls, 1. Check the operator's website for departures from Valencia on your date.

Option B: a train to Alicante and the tram.

  1. From the airport to Valencia city centre by metro.
  2. A Renfe train from València Joaquín Sorolla to Alicante. Renfe runs this route with Euromed trains.
  3. In Alicante, the TRAM to Benidorm. According to Visit Benidorm, Benidorm is on the Alicante – Dénia tram line.

Both options work if you travel light and have time to spare. Bear in mind that each leg has its own timetable, and a delayed flight can make you miss the next connection.

What if you land in Alicante? If you haven't bought your flights yet, Visit Benidorm notes that Alicante-Elche airport is about 60 km from Benidorm and that a direct bus line runs between that airport and the city. Aena also lists it on its Alicante airport bus page.

Private transfer: from the plane to your hotel

A private transfer means no changes: the driver picks you up at the airport and drops you at the address you give us in Benidorm, whether it's a hotel by Levante beach or an apartment in Poniente.

  • We meet you in the arrivals hall with a sign bearing your name. Before the trip we send you the exact meeting point and the driver's phone number (where the driver meets you).
  • We track your flight. If it's delayed, we adjust the pickup to the actual arrival time (what if my flight is delayed). Free waiting at the airport is 60 minutes from the actual landing (how long the driver waits).
  • A fixed price, tolls included. You see it in the calculator before you book, with no last-minute extras (is the price final?).
  • The right vehicle for your group and luggage. If you're bringing large suitcases, tick “Large luggage” and we'll show you the vehicles that fit. We have sedans for up to 4 passengers, minibuses for up to 7 and coaches with 22, 33 and 55 seats (our fleet).
  • With children. Ask for a child seat in the form and give the child's age in the comment. We confirm availability when you book.

The way back: from Benidorm to Valencia Airport

The return trip works differently, because this time your flight time sets the pace. When you choose the pickup time, allow for the drive, the time your airline asks for check-in and security, and a buffer in case of traffic. If you're unsure, send us your flight time and hotel address and we'll help you set it.

On the website you can book with at least 1 hour notice before the pickup. For anything more urgent, message us on WhatsApp or call us (last-minute bookings). Most people simply book the return together with the outbound trip and forget about it.

Before you book

  1. Have your flight number to hand. Add it to the booking comment or send it on WhatsApp (why we ask for it).
  2. Give the exact address of your accommodation, not just its name, so the driver goes straight to the door.
  3. Want to stop on the way? Stops are possible if we agree them in advance: add them in the comment. They may change the price (stops on the way).
  4. For the return, after booking the outbound trip press “Book the return trip”: the route is reversed and your details are already filled in (outbound and return).

If your plans change, changes are free up to 24 hours before the pickup, and so is cancellation up to 24 hours before (changes and cancellations).
